Kimberly Smith is an award winning and highly skilled meeting planner and event producer with 20+ years in association management, fund raising, and event management. What distinguishes her from others in her field is that she believes quality is a consumer perception and as such, she moves mountains to give her clients the best experience. Passionate about all aspects of event management, Kimberly has a special expertise in association and nonprofit and event planning and production. She has planned and executed events of all sizes ranging from 10 – 20,000 attendees with an estimated economic impact of $100MM in tourism revenue.
Her creative ideas, remarkable skills, and keen insights has landed her opportunities to work alongside top names in the entertainment industry to include: co-hosts of CBS’ The Talk and past President of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Sheryl Underwood; Gospel Stellar, BET and GMA Dove Award winner Marvin Sapp; gospel icon Dr. Bobby Jones; Grammy Award nominee Vickie Winans, “The New Mr. Vegas” comedian George Wallace, R&B singers Ledisi, as well as Montell Jordan; and gospel greats Ann Nesby, and the Rance Allen Group. She was the first professional meeting planner to plan and produce an event at the Kodak Theater (now the Adobe Theater) in Hollywood, California., having produced a private concert for Cook, Dixon & Young formerly known as The Three Mo’ Tenors.
Kimberly is an active member of her professional community maintaining membership in Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners (NCBMP), the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) where she has been a national conference speaker and served on local committees, and the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB) where she previously served as marketing committee co-chair for its Multicultural Affairs Congress (MAC). She recently ended her tenure on the Benedict College Board of Trustees, Columbia, SC where she served as Chair of the Development Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee.
Ms. Smith is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri where she earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. She writes a weekly blog targeted to event entrepreneurs, planners and anyone interested in the meetings industry.
